It’s not surprising that Starbucks 2015 opened Farmer Support Centers which are located in Berastagi – North Sumatra which works closely with the farmers community and Starbucks Partners to enhance farmers’ knowledge in coffee farming and agriculture to a better production outcome and sustainable farming practices.

Amidst its thriving agro-industries, Berastagi shines as an ideal oasis for relaxation, standing alongside the renowned Lake Toba and Samosir Island, which have become the very essence of North Sumatra’s allure. Brastagi is only 66 km southwest of Medan and you can do this coffee tour in just a short one-day trip. Brastagi is 1400 m above sea level it’s the perfect place to see the Arabica coffee farm while enjoying the scenic journey from Medan to Berastagi where the air grows crisper and the landscape transforms into a breathtaking tapestry of lush greenery and misty mountains which are Sibayak Mountain and Sinabung Mountain.

We could also see Sipiso-piso, the iconic Waterfall with 360-foot height (one of the highest in North Sumatra). We will visit The Dokan Village, a community that still lives in beautiful and majestic traditional houses. ITINERARY

• 07.00 am – Pick up at Meeting Point (There are 3 options: Medan City, Kualana Namu Airport, or Berastagi)
• 10.00 am – Coffee farm visit with Farmer
• 10.15 am – Learn farmer agricultural practices and know coffee varieties
• 11.00 am – Experience Coffee cherry harvesting practice
• 12.00 am – Introduction to the post-harvest process
• 12.30 am – Lunch break
• 01.30 pm – Experience Wet-hulled and Depulper Practice
• 02.00 pm – Visiting Lake Toba, Sipiso – piso Waterfall and Dokan Village
• 04.00 pm – Coffee tasting at local roastery and cafe.
• 06.00 pm – Back to Medan
